In a bold step forward for children’s mental health in Niagara, Pathstone Mental Health is proud to announce the arrival of Dr. Richa Agnihotri, a community pediatrician and lifestyle medicine expert, who will begin offering specialized care at Pathstone. Launching this June, the lifestyle pediatric practice will operate out of Pathstone two days a week and will provide a new model of care focused on sustainable health and wellness strategies for children and youth facing mental health challenges.
Dr. Agnihotri has a focused practice in pediatric mental health, including the diagnosis and management of ADHD, autism, anxiety, and depression with an early relational health focused, and trauma-informed approach. Her clinical approach is grounded in lifestyle medicine, an evidence-based, patient-centred model of care that emphasizes healthy behaviour change as a critical part of prevention and treatment.
The new clinic will support families by helping them develop individualized wellness plans that align with their child’s medical needs, goals, circumstances, and potential barriers. The practice focuses on six key pillars of health:
- Sleep
- Physical activity
- Nutrition
- Social connectedness
- Stress management
- Avoidance of risky behaviours and substances
Families who access the lifestyle pediatric practice will work in close partnership with Dr. Agnihotri to explore how these areas impact their child’s development, behaviour, and overall well-being. Through coaching and collaboration, they will be empowered to make informed decisions and create positive, lasting changes.
“This clinic is an exciting and meaningful addition to Pathstone’s continuum of care,” said Shaun Baylis, CEO of Pathstone Mental Health.
“By helping families understand and act on the everyday factors that influence health, we are equipping them with real tools to support their child’s mental wellness. Dr. Agnihotri’s practice is a powerful step toward building healthier futures for children and youth in Niagara.”
Dr. Agnihotri completed her medical education in the United Kingdom and her residency in general pediatrics at Western University. In addition to her clinical expertise, she brings a deep personal commitment to supporting families through a compassionate, values-driven approach to care.
“I believe that every child deserves the chance to thrive,” said Dr. Agnihotri.
“Through this partnership with Pathstone, we will give families the support and knowledge they need to make meaningful changes and build a strong foundation for lifelong health.”
The lifestyle pediatric practice will operate every Wednesday and Thursday out of Pathstone Mental Health, with further updates to follow in the coming weeks.
