Hoskinson Health and Wellness Clinic (HHWC) is excited to welcome Kristina Gray to its Behavior Health team. With over 20 years of experience in the nursing field, Kristina’s journey began in 2001 as a certified nursing assistant. In 2009, she became a registered nurse, continuing to care for the elderly, volunteering at the health department to educate the community before finding her niche in labor and delivery, NICU, and mother-baby care. Her work with adolescent acute and residential inpatients, along with managing outpatient psychiatric medication for both children and adults, solidified her passion for child and adolescent psychiatry.
Over a decade of working with mothers and babies revealed a significant gap in mental health care for peri and postpartum women. This realization motivated Kristina to pursue a doctorate in psychiatric mental health, which she completed in 2024. She is dedicated to educating patients about medication risks, benefits, and options, empowering them to make informed decisions about their care. “Understanding what matters most to patients and their families, providing relevant education, and finding comfortable treatments are central to my approach.,“ she says. “I am passionate about all engaging patients in shared decision-making for all treatment plans, ensuring they understand their diagnosis, the importance of medication compliance, and necessary environmental and lifestyle modifications.”
As an active member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, Kristina remains dedicated to professional growth and excellence in her field. Her belief in the potential for anyone to face a mental health crisis drives her to advocate for robust community mental health support.
Beyond her professional work, Kristina is dedicated to addressing food insecurity across all populations. During nursing school, she served as the Vice President of the Student Nursing Association and coordinated a fundraiser with her husband’s company, successfully raising $20,000 for Joshua’s Storehouse. She has participated in several initiatives, including delivering Meals on Wheels and volunteering at Food for Thought. Alongside her husband and children, Kristina has spent time volunteering at the Wyoming Rescue Mission. In 2020, she launched a food pantry at Casper College to support food-insecure college students, and during the COVID-19 pandemic, she worked with the volunteer fire department in Bar-Nunn to open another food pantry.
Reflecting on her alignment with Hoskinson Health & Wellness, Kristina says, “Hoskinson embodies the values I have sought in healthcare for over 20 years, emphasizing the treatment of the patient’s mind, body, and soul.” She appreciates the blend of allopathic and holistic interventions, recognizing that this combination truly benefits patients. “Collaboration within a comprehensive team ensures that patients receive the best possible medical care, which I strive for all my patients to access,” she adds. She feels fortunate to be part of a mission dedicated to healing rather than merely suppressing symptoms.
Kristina has been married for 28 years and is a proud mother of four children- two daughters and two sons and grandmother to two grandchildren. Her close-knit family enjoys spending time together and actively supporting their community. Sharing her passion for mental health, her children work at Wyoming Behavior Institute in various roles. Kristina describes them as “the kindest, most passionate individuals,” adding that “working alongside them has been a remarkable opportunity.” She considers her family her greatest accomplishment and the most fulfilling aspect of her life.
